ALSA dropped?

Is it possible that ALSA support is dropped on the new Raspbian and on the Wheezy SF version? E.g. I'm not able to install linux-sound-base with a updated Wheezy!

I've just now on Raspian hf done

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install linux-sound-base

and had no errors nor warnings.
