FrontRow clone with DLNA-client support?

Sun Nov 11, 2012 11:14 am

Hi all

I purchased a Raspberry Pi to use as a streaming media client in the bedroom. I'm looking for a Media Centre that acts like FrontRow (on the Mac) which can access my DLNA server over WiFi. I'm specifically looking for something very simple and "lightweight", so that my partner can use it. It only needs to stream video content (no pictures/music), and I'd like to make the Pi boot straight to that app.

Suggestions?

Does a XBMC distro serve your needs ?

• Don't like the board ? Missing features ? Change to the prosilver theme ! You can find it in your settings.
• Don't like to search the forum BEFORE posting 'cos it's useless ? Try googling : yoursearchtermshere site:raspberrypi.org

XMBC looks to be too comprehensive for my needs. I'm looking for something a little more lightweight.
