2 cents from one who has lurked on this forum for years. Forget about using the Pi for Netflix or other DRM providers like Amazon, Hulu, etc. If it works, it won't for long. Other options exist, similarly priced to the Pi.

Use the Pi for what it was intended: learning to write your own code.

It does work, at least for me and another guy, just follow the instructions on the Netflix addon github page. If you have any doubts, please post in the Kodi 18 forum topic.

The plugin is broken even when Kodi is installed correctly.

It was working just fine on weekend. Did you followed the instructions on the plugin github page ? You need to install kodi-inpustream-adaptive from the repo and also python-cryptodomex (with "pip install pycryptodomex", as the user which is going to run Kodi). Restart Kodi after that. If it still doesn't work after that, post your Kodi log in Kodi 18 testbuilds topic, following this:

Did that the end result was a green screen with random pixels.

I tested Netflix yesterday and it worked just fine. Just complaining with little to no information is hard to help you... The Kodi debug log will help us identify your problem.

This is the log Kodi produces when I try to play violet ever-garden using the netflix addon. The audio works however the video is like LSD gone bad. I haven't a clue when it comes to python so I haven't a clue how to fix this.

We need a debug log, not a normal one, please follow the instructions on my previous post.
In the meantime, on video settings, make sure you have the default settings, so MMAL enabled and OMXPlayer disabled.

If you want netflix and amazon prime then kodi 18 is what you want.
Kodi 18 is currently beta so you want a nightly milhouse build.
Read the "Amazon Prime / Netflix / inputstream.adaptive" instructions on the first post of this thread.

Kodi 18 should be reaching release in the next couple of months so you may want to wait for that (although the beta has been stable for me for months).

We were talking about Kodi 18 but on Raspbian and Netflix and Amazon Prime works just fine, no need to install a separate OS just for that. Atton problem was most likely that he had OMXPlayer enabled.
