RasPi as audio client

Hi
I'm thinking to dedicate a RasPi as a kitchen audio client via SqueezeSlave and my Logitech Media Server.
Can anyone recommend a compact and relatively low budget (say <£80, I'm happy with moderate quality audio) route to hear the sound over the Pi HDMI port? I'm not interested in either screen or the video output, I'll control the playlist from one of the other multitude of devices in the house. I presently don't have amp or speakers I can use for this. I think it would be nice to use the HDMI rather than the audio out.
Ideally that device would have a USB port too, that I could power the Pi off.
suggestions appreciated. TIA.
