wireles audio transmission and mediacentre

Tue Oct 10, 2017 8:52 am

Hello everyone

I was working on an old stereo installation and got it up and running. I want to use is to boost the sound of my tv, but i want it behind the couch (in stead of next to the tv).
with wires everywhere

I thought that perhaps a raspberry pi would do the tric for me.
with PI communicating between TV side and stereo side

Then I thougth, lets get a step further and make a mediacentre of my stereo and tv.
With streaming included

Basically i want the sound of the dvd player and decoder(for digital tv) to go via the PI to the stereo. And extra i want the video of my smartphone go to the tv and the music to the stereo.

IS this idea possible and if so, where do I start?

Putting any kind of networking into the audio path but not the video path may lead to subjectively annoying or even unusable lip-sync delays
