Which SAT>IP Server?

Thu Sep 21, 2017 1:07 pm

Hello,

Has anyone have any experience/knowledge with SAT>IP Servers?

I want to put one on my network but there are a couple on the market at the moment:

http://www.conrad-electronic.co.uk/ce/e ... IGIBIT-R-1

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Triax-310101-C ... s=SAT%3EIP

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Megasat-SAT-IP ... s=SAT%3EIP

Any advice/suggestions would be much appreciated.

Definitely - there are lots of people that are successfully using them with either Librelec/Openelec or Openmediavault and then installing TVHeadend for PVR purposes.

You can then record directly to a USB HDD.

Whilst the Pi's lack of Gigabit ethernet does potentially limit the number of HD streams that it could record simultaneously, it does seem a great way of putting together a cheap and reliable PVR - really cool stuff.

:D
OK so I currently watch TV via freesat so I could replace that box with a SAT-IP server box then route signals over the Ethernet in the house to other locations with the use of a RPi , a stand alone SAT-IP receiver
I think I need to look into this further .....
not that I watch much TV but ....
