Netflix On Kodi - libreelec/openelec

Tue Sep 19, 2017 7:47 pm

Hi all,
Im back to the pi for almost 4 years (yeah, the very beginning), and this time, i want to use it as a media center.
I was looking on the internet and youtube, that there are people runing netflix on kodi for the pi, and according to some post on this forum, this is not legal.
Because i also read the post about running netflix on chromium, but dunno if its going to run fast enough on pi3.

So, my questions are:
1.- Its legal to run netflix on kodi?
2.- how good is running it on chromium?

Thanks in advance.

In Raspbian OSes the Chromium Browser requires Widevine for DRM support and thankfully there are instructions how to do so:

Whether or not streaming Netflix is legal depends on whether or not you have a subscription. There is work going on to include "normal" streaming of copyrighted material in the next release of Kodi. Should work well once it's ready for final release.
