Media file compatibility

Fri Sep 28, 2012 10:28 pm

Does anyone know if Raspbmc (or other) will play .ts media files please?
These are media files created by my Humax Freesat pvr. at the moment I stream them via a laptop, but would like to stream them via a RPi (if possible) to the spare tv, the sound is much better than the laptop.

I installed XBMC onto a Linux Mint OS laptop and finally got it streaming recordings from my Freesat HDR hard drive over my home network ( a big achievement for me ). This suggests that a Raspberry Pi with XBMC or Raspbmc might be capable of the same and allow me to use it it to feed to my second tv instead of using a laptop. There is Twonky media UPnP installed on the Freesat pvr, and XBMC uses this to stream
Has anyone any views on this possibility?

edit: I can't get rid of the subtitles, progress though.

If mods want to shift this to "Off Topic Discussion" that's fine.
