Symlink two directories into one

Wed Mar 01, 2017 5:43 am

I have a media server, with Sonarr to coordinate downloads. I have a /TV folder and a /seeding folder. The TV folder has organised content, while the Seeding folder has the content that is seeding. I need to virtually combine them to reduce the hassle when using miniDLNA to stream the videos on the TV.

In order to do this I believe you will have to create symlinks of every file in the two directories to the one directory.

I found a few ways of doing so, this one seems to be the easiest to follow: ... s-into-one

or a simple script:

rm -f /home/username/gallery/*
ln -sf /home/username/images/* /home/username/gallery/
ln -sf /home/username/pictures/* /home/username/gallery/
