Kodi on Jessie

Does Kodi run on the basic Jessie version of Raspbian. I have installed it (sudo apt-get install kodi) and it seemed to install OK, but when I type Kodi nothing happens

are you typing `kodi` or `Kodi`?
If you would like it to start at boot you can simply edit the `/etc/default/kodi` file and change the line `enabled=0` to `enabled=1`

Also to navigate kodi you may need to add kodi to the input group:
`usermod -a -G input kodi`

You can also use my project to install kodi, by choosing a custom install and only answering `y` to kodi

It will work out of the box with the latest Raspbian Lite Image ( I haven't tested with Pixel, but just for Kodi I wouldn't imagine any issues)
Repo is here: https://github.com/BaReinhard/Super-Sim ... er-Install

This install will include all the proper usermods required for Kodi to input

I simply wrote Kodi in my post because it is a name. I appreciate that the command is case sensitive.

I worked out what my problem was. I was accessing the Pi headless (via BNC). All was well when I connected a monitor.
