Terminal visible outside XBMC video letterbox

Sun Sep 16, 2012 12:03 pm

My XBMC menus fill my 16:9 screen, but some films display in a letterbox.

In the black regions above and below the video I can see the terminal output behind. XBMC is started via the init.d service script that's floating around the forums so I don't think the 'clear' hack works - or at least I can find where to put it to make it work.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

In the video Playback settings in XBMC, tell XBMC how to handle your 4:3 Videos, If you stretch to 16:9, That will fill your screen.

Unfortunately, that doesn't fix it. Console still visible.

Any other ideas?

I had the same issue when I was running a compiled version of XBMC on top of my Raspbian version. I started using Xbian instead and I did not have the same issue. RaspbMC probably fixes it as well but I haven't used that.
