Creating a music box with dispay

Hello,

I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction with my current media center(ish) project.

I'm hoping to create a (nice and sturdy) wooden box containing a RPI 3 with a piano 2.1 HAT and a Allo Volt Amp with a small (touch)screen that show the album art and some basic functions.

As of now, the RPi, Piano and Amp are producing an impressive amount of music (or noise) and I have a big oak box to put the lot in, but, and this is the part where I'm stuck at for now, I can't get the screen connected to the Pi, as the piano and amp hog all the GPIO on de Pi.

Am I missing something? Is it just a question of having forgotten a cable of connection? I've been scouring the web for the last couple of day's but so far have come up empty.

Should it matter or make a difference, the software of choice (atm) is Volumio, also I have a version of Kodi and RuneAudio.

Sow... there's my dilemma, any help at all is greatly appreciated.

(probably it's something ridiculously simpel that I missed and will read the solution with a sigh of resignation and relief)
(a small DoH! might even escape me)

Use an HDMI screen or the official 7in Touchscreen (which connects to DSI of the RPi3).

A fair option to be sure, but one already discarded, with the Hdmi I lose the touch functionallity and the 7inch is simply to large (and, also I'd have to buy one).

Thanky you for the suggestion though :)
