Smarting a Dumb TV

Wed Sep 05, 2012 9:08 am

I'm not a developer, but I'd like to empower my dumb flat screen with the R pi, in fact that's one of the two things I first thought it would do. That and a Beowulf ring. It crosses my mind how does one upgrade the RAM memory? But I'll do it all with Mageia. :?

You can't upgrade the RAM at all, you can change the ram allocation (between the cpu and gpu), but that's about it.

As far as I'm aware there isn't a Mageia port for the Raspberry Pi.

True Mageia as yet hasn't an installable distribution, but any day their will be, at the moment there is a shed load of files but you'd probably need to install them on a working distribution. ;)
