160 GB external hard drive

is there a way to get raspbmc to detect and use my 160 GB external hard drive it has its own power supply so no worrys on the not getting any power.

It should be a case of plug it in and start XBMC - as far as I know, Raspbmc automatically mounts any USB drives.

yea it mounted but inside the raspbmc it cant see it.

This is off the top of my head so may not be 100%

In xbmc, go to videos, then files, then add source. Choose root file system, then navigate to /mnt/usb0 (it may be /media/usb0, i cant remember exactly) and add that as a source.

XBMC should remember it from then on!

okay so ive got a 120 gb laptop hard drive to work on it.
