Transmitting pandora from phone to Raspberry Pi

Thu Jan 07, 2016 7:26 pm

Hello all,

My Raspberry Pi is still in transit to my hands, my main project at the moment is a music server with my Pi.

I found out there's pandora for Pi, however I do have Pandora One on my phone, is there a way to transmit pandora from my phone to the Pi over WiFi?

I was reading info about PiUi but I am lost and didn't find a definite answer to my question.

Thank you!

"transmit pandora" is not really clear enough to be sure what you are asking about.

Probably your best options for playing the Pandora stream on a Raspberry Pi are:
1. Install pianobar on the Pi. No phone needed.
2. Stream your phone's audio to the Pi over Bluetooth.

Yes, see, there's an application called Pandora and there is a version for android. Android is an open OS used in phones and tablets. I have the app for android without commercials called pandora one and I am finding a way to transmit the music Pandora plays on my phone to my pi.

Hope that makes sense.

Bluetooth was the first option but sounded too easy, I am seeing if it can be done over WiFi.
I don't like much pianobar because of its lack of GUI, unless there's a version with GUI which I don't know about.

I just thought, install an apk emulator in the Pi to run the same app directly from the pi may work.

I still got to wait for either the little screen, the HDMI to VGA or the HDMI to RCA adapters to arrive. I tried to visualize the pi in my laptop through Ethernet with out good results and the file I learned needs modification so putty can connect (contains the port number) is not in the distros I got. II got a composite to RCA cable but I can't press #3 for my pi to switch to the composite video/audio output since the only keyboard I got has to be installed first and I can't see a thing.

I'm just sad I have not been able to do a thing yet.
