How can I have more amperage on usb ports?

Hello everyone,

The necessity of the raspberry is 5 volts and 2 amperes, right? I noticed if I try connect the usb disk, which need 1 ampere, the usb disk can't turn on. If I use the source with more than 2 ampere to turn on raspberry can I have more amperage on the usb ports?

Put max_usb_current=1in /boot/config.txt to get 1.2A on the USB.

How I see the current voltage and amperage on usb ports?
This value, 1.2A, this is a maximum which can I use? But to use that value can I use the source 2A?

It's always 5v, and the default maxm, across all usbs, is 600mA.

2A maybe enough depending on what other accessories you have connected.

The polyfuse connected to the USB power input is 2A so if using that 2A is the maxm current you can get.

What is the max ampere limit on a single usb port on a Raspberry pi 2?
I have raised the total limit mentioned above to 1.2 amp and now I wonder if I can get 1.2 amp on a single usb port, alt. how many ports do I have to use in addition to get 1.2 amp?

The 5 volt pins of all the USB ports are joined together. So you can take the total maximum current in any mixture you like from one to four ports.
