Sorry to disappoint but, as far as I understand it, it is not possible to use bluetooth audio with OMXplayer. However, Ubeify can also use VLC instead of OMXplayer so you may be able to get Bluetooth audio working with that. I'll add a toggle switch in Ubeify's options menu to enable/disable VLC in a future update
, but until then, you'll need to edit /ubeify/src/ubeify.py to enable VLC:
First, make sure you have VLC installed by running:
Then in /ubeify/src/ubeify.py comment out the line starting with if 'BCM2709'
with a hash/pound symbol (#) like the code snippet below. Save the file and delete /ubeify/src/ubeify.pyc
. Restart Ubeify and it will now use VLC as default.
Code: Select all
# windows, linux or raspberry pi?
chipTest = open('/proc/cpuinfo').read()
#if 'BCM2709' in chipTest or 'BCM2708' in chipTest or 'BCM2835' in chipTest: self.playerOptionNum=0
self.usb_info =
# get list of valid hard/usb drives in a thread
Unfortunately I don't have a 3.5" screen to test Ubeify with. Are you able to post a cell phone photo of the screen running Ubeify? That should be enough for me to work out how to fix the screen resolution problems you're having. Thanks
