Mono 2.11.3

Thu Aug 09, 2012 10:42 pm

Don't know if mentioned before
Downloaded latest (9 Aug)2.11.3 tar.bz2 compiled on ArchLinux a few hours later success:)

Mono now ran my async .Net 4.5 C# 5 API server without recompile, really sweet.

Really Impressed by the mono effort.

Compiled 2.11.4 (tarball Mon Aug 13 22:28:55 CEST 2012) all my projects tests ran fine.

Now bits of Entity framework is being available.

Any chance you guys could provide some detail on how you got mono compiled/installed? I've tried with the 2.11.3 tarball by following the instructions at http://mono-project.com/Compiling_Mono_From_Tarball, but after extracting the .tar.bz2 file and running:

Code: Select all

./configure --prefix=/usr/local
I get the following errors:

Code: Select all

configure: error: in `/root/mono-2.11.3':
configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
Any help would be much appreciated as I'd love to have .NET with the EntityFramework running on my Pi. As you can probably tell I have no previous experience with Arch.

Thanks for the reply, ProjectMayu.

The instructions on the Mono site now look to be working ('make' has been going since last night) after I did a 'pacman -Syu' followed by 'pacman -S gcc'.
