Sure. Looks an easy chip to interface to too. You send it 16-bit data blocks (ie 2 bytes) the bottom 8-bits is data, the bottom 4 bits of the next byte is the command byte. Simples. You send both bytes in a single transaction using write(2) or wiringPiSPIDataRW ()

Sorry I don't understand. How send the 8 bits to MAX7219? What command should I send?
