Outline of Using Waveshare C/C++ Libraries

Tue May 18, 2021 11:09 pm

Can anyone give me an outline or examples of how to use display libraries like Waveshare or other cheap small graphic display for displaying text In C.

All the examples I have found are bouncing balls and the like. I just want a small text terminal on a Pico.

Maybe take a look at something like:
https://github.com/pimoroni/pimoroni-pi ... co_display
This uses a Pimoroni pico display. You can add text using their graphics library. https://github.com/pimoroni/pimoroni-pi ... o_graphics.
Maybe you can change this code to suit your needs.

Thanks, I forgot I had posted that.

I got it all sorted in the end, my biggest battle was CmakeLists which I virtually bypassed by including everything globally in the main program instead of using CMakeLists to do it - probably very bad practice but it works.

Once I broke down the waveshare libraries they were a lot simpler than my initial impression - C always puts me on the defensive but I appear to have mellowed a little.
