I've been trying to get jgarff's neopixel library: https://github.com/jgarff/rpi_ws281x
and rtmidi: https://github.com/thestk/rtmidi
to work together on my project. I can get either to work fabulously by itself but since since rpi-ws281x is written in C and built with SConscript and rtmidi is written in C++ and built with GCC the challenge of getting them to work together has really gotten me out of my depth. I've been trying to understand Scons well enough to just add the rtmidi build process into it but it's been a struggle given my relative lack of inexperience with linux. I was able to get a Python version of this running from the same libraries but it was much too slow to meet my needs. Does anyone have any insights on how to make these things work together in C/C++?
