Programming RS-PI using C++

Fri Jul 13, 2012 12:51 am

I hope this question is not too simplistic or vague,
I am new to RS-pi and feel very intimidated. :oops:
I program using visual C++ and I have created a very amusing console app.
I understand that raspberry pi cannot run exe :?
Is there anyway I could convert the source code into an executable program for RS-PI.

Thank you in advance.

No need to feel intimidated !

I think you should really learn to do it from the commandline.

The compiler is g++ , so

Code: Select all

 g++ sourcecode.cpp -o appname
will get you started. If you do not like the CLI , type startx and then use "Geany" .

If you are into .NET , google "Mono project".
It runs on the Pi.

• Don't like the board ? Missing features ? Change to the prosilver theme ! You can find it in your settings.
• Don't like to search the forum BEFORE posting 'cos it's useless ? Try googling : yoursearchtermshere site:raspberrypi.org

Return to “C/C++”
