Evdev

Fri Nov 29, 2013 1:29 pm

Well, i tried the

Code: Select all

from evdev import blablabla
linne in Python, and i got the error code that said that there is no module named evdev, i tried

Code: Select all

import evdev
but that didn't work either.

I've tried (almost)every apt-get things for evdev with no success.

How can I solve this?

have you tried downloading evdev-0.4.4.tar.gz from pypi.python.org?
(then extracting and 'sudo python setup.py install')

Code: Select all

Traceback (most recent call last):
   File "setup.py", line 10, in <module>
      from setuptools.command.develop import develop
ImportError: No module named setuptools.command.develop
I tried 'sudo apt-get install setuptools'

How do I solve this?

I fixed it with the setuptool thingy, but now I get a GCC error? (Code 1)

It just so happens that I packaged up python-evdev & python3-evdev (0.4.1 - from mentors.debian.net) yesterday. Available from http://dl.piwall.co.uk

use python3 instead of python2. It should work perfectly.

for example (in terminal) :
..../python3 test_evdev.py

Return to “Python”
