Alternative to zbar

I want to make a project with qrcodes but zbar doesn't work(

Is there any alternatives to zbar? python 2 or 3 is not the problem. Picamera module is too slow, I can't just do a photo, scan the image and while True.
I just have one week to finish this project this is the last thing missing please I really need help on reddit an stack exchange nobody answered.
