I am super new to python and raspberry pi so please bear with me.
I need to play a video with a raspberry pi and while the video is playing, commands are sent to an Arduino at certain frames or 'moments' in the video.
I've got omxplayer working, and can send commands to the Arduino, but that's it. I am not sure if omxplayer is even the best thing to use here. I would probably need to count the frames of the video or have some way of knowing where the video is in the timeline and trigger the commands at key points.
I've done this system with MaxMSP which counts the frames and sends commands via serial to the Arduino. But I need to make my system cheaper and since MaxMSP does not work on the Pi I am converting to Python.
Any pointers would be great!
