Get devices connected to rpi wifi hotspot

Tue Aug 13, 2019 12:35 pm

How to get the list of the devices connected to raspberry pi's wifi hotspot? I need to display the details of connected devices.

Thanks in advance!

What software are you using to create the hotspot?

What O/S do you have on the Pi?

Does the hotspot have its own sub-net or does it share the Ethernet connection via a DHCP range?

Assuming the OP uses hostapd, I would try the hostapd_cli tool and the “all_sta” command.
There are a few posts about this in the forum.

I'm using rasbian 2019 version os. It shares the Ethernet connection via a DHCP range.

There have been THREE releases of the Raspbian Operating System during 2019 so far. Of these, one was based on Debian Stretch, one was based on a testing pre-release version of Debian Buster, and one was based on the official release of Debian Buster. Your lack of precision is unhelpful.

It's the official Debian Buster version.
