Language/Technology advice

Thu Jun 21, 2012 12:29 pm

My project is to develop an ASP.net hosted website for piusers. In the website will be a projects section. These will not only provide all the info on what the project does, what is required, steps to complete etc but a connection to a real implementation of the finished project i.e. a real raspberry pi.
An example project could be set up a webcam to view remotely. Our site will provide a connection to a real raspberry pi showing the webcam in operation.
Other projects will involve use of the pi's ability to serve information from peripherals connected to the project pi as well as info from the pi os itself.

I would appreciate if anyone could point me in the right direction as to how to get info off the pi and peripherals, and onto a pi served webpage (probably php, nginx, mysql).

Which languages/technologies available to the pi would be best to employ for this task that can read state info/current etc from the pi. How do I get this info so it is accessible to php?

Thanks in advance for your help.
