HDMI configuration for embedded linux

Wed Sep 26, 2018 7:37 pm

Hello, I have used a certain display with following HDMI setup in boot/config.txt

hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=87
hdmi_timings=1920 0 0 2 126 720 0 2 2 4 0 0 0 60 0 89456640 8

So, I have confirmed that the display panel works well with above option.

However, in terms of embedded linux OS, I don't know how to start for the setting up of HDMI.

I have used framebuffer as a backend system. And trying to use fbset, but I don't know how to start..

Please give me any clue for moving forward.

Thanks,

Confirmed how ?

What exactly do you mean by "setting up" ? The firmware that loads the config.txt will setup the resolution as you have specified and all frambuffers should then be of that size, you usually dont need to worry about HDMI anymore.

Which/what kind of embedded Linux OS are we talking about.
