Open vpn on start up?

Sat Jun 02, 2018 10:05 pm

Hello i know this question has been asked many times and I'm so confused. But I'm trying to start my openvpn client on startup to manually start it i found out i have to type in sudo openvpn client.ovpn and it works But how do i do it manually and get it to work on startup? Sorry I'm not a programmer and I'm trying to stop banging my head on my desk. Can someone please help me?

If you have an openvpn configuration file called /etc/openvpn/example.conf you can enable that at startup (with systemd) with sudo systemctl enable [email protected]example.service.

Open an LXterminal window, type in the blue text from my post, press [ENTER]. At next boot your OpenVPN will automagically start.

Open an lxterminal window

cd /etc
sudo mkdir openvpn # if it doesn't already exist
cd openvpn
sudo mv /home/pi/download/example.ovpn example.conf
