Control Garage Door Open/Shut

I am new to raspberry Pi.

I have a garage door which is powered by a motor. On top of the motor is two pins, when a wire is put between these two pins for half a second and removed, it connects the circuit and sends a signal to open the garage door.

The idea of these two pins on the garage door motor is that you would usually connect a push button "exit" button to these two pins, and whenever someone presses the button, it would open the garage door.

How do I hook up two wires to the raspberri pi GPIO's and then send a ssh command to connect the circuit?

The GPIO's need to simply connect two wires as a circuit and i only need to do it for a second, and then turn the circuit off.

Any help appreciated.

You need a relay, and a transistor circuit to control the relay. Such relay drivers are commonly discussed here.
