Arduino IDE does not recognize letter 'M' [solved]

Sun Aug 13, 2017 12:26 pm

Hi,
I have problems with the Arduino IDE, not everything works well, the problem is that when a M than in the program screen appear an W.
I tried also an older version off the IDE, with no result.
In all other programs i can type M and on on the screen it gives a M.
Only in the Arduino IDE M show W the character in the program is also wrong.
With copy/paste give the same problem.
Hope someone can help me

Just tried it with both versions 1.8.2 and 1.8.3, and unfortunately I can't reproduce the issue. Maybe your keymap is not set correctly for your country in raspi-config?

The way I installed 1.8.3 was:

Code: Select all

mkdir -p ~/Applications
cd ~/Applications
wget https://downloads.arduino.cc/arduino-1.8.3-linuxarm.tar.xz
tar xvJf arduino-1.8.3-linuxarm.tar.xz
cd arduino-1.8.3
./install.sh
cd ..
rm arduino-1.8.3-linuxarm.tar.xz
This puts an icon on the desktop that you can start the Arduino IDE from.

Hi scruss,
Thanks for your quick reply, i install the program followed your description but with no result.
The keyboard mapping must ok, in other programs there is no problem.
The problem is that i get a W when i type a M using the arduino IDE ????
Hope you have some more suggestions for me.

Just select and delete the icon. It won't delete your installation.
