Game testing and compatibility.

Sat May 26, 2012 12:21 am

There are a lot of games in the default repos (I'm personally using debian) that work with varying degrees of success. So I thought it'd be a good idea to collect them all here.

Works Flawlessly
- breakout2

Works with glitches or performance issues
- frozen-bubble (sound issues)

Unplayable
- lincity-ng (sound issues, black screen)

Post what you've tried and how you get on, and I'll add it to the list!

Unplayable
-Bzflag (extreme performance issues)

Either from the repositories or compiled from source (using debian), simply toggling between menu items takes a few seconds a piece. Wish I could fix it but it seems to be an issue with the video drivers and that is way above my head :(

Thanks for starting this list. But isn't there a more comprehensive list somewhere? I'd imagine that there'd be quite a few games that should work with this hardware.

As HTWingNut has said there are thousands of games - most of which will run perfectly fine - all the interactive fiction for example.

But also this kind of thing would be far better on a wiki.
