Using LCD Display through DSI port

Thu Feb 12, 2015 4:34 pm

Does anyone know how I would interface an LCD, such as a Laptop display, to the Pi through the DSI port?

It is not possible.

The DSI port is for the Raspberry Pi official display which is being worked on. The hardware and software will not (currently) support any other display on that connector.

If you want to connect a laptop display you will need to find a hdmi driver board for that display.

(This question gets asked at least twice a week  )

You can't do that. The code in the GPU to drive that DSI is proprietary materials owned by Broadcom.
