Using Pi as a VPN server for PPTP

Wed Mar 19, 2014 11:37 am

I want to create a VPN server for my home network so I can connect to it when I am traveling.
I need to connect to my LAN through this server using PPTP as protocol.
Then I want to be able to run Remote Desktop on my Windows computers, administer my NAS etc.
I also want to be able to connect the VPN and then browse the Internet through the server out so that I will get a Swedish IP address for using the public Play services like SVT Play.

Is this at all possible using a Raspberry Pi?

I have a Pi that is now used as XBMC server running raspbmc, but if it is not possible to install a VPN server on that unit because of capacity reasons for example then I can buy a new Pi and use that.

I have read a few articles on the Internet and it seems doable but they are a few years old so I am uncertain about which distribution is best on the Pi for the VPN usage.
Here is the latest I found (from 2012)

Any help and links supplied are greatly appreciated!
