Is UHS-I support coming?

Mon Jan 20, 2014 3:08 pm

The SD-hardware in the Raspberry Pi lacks one line to drive to voltage down to reach higher SD speed modes. When the 8 GB NOOBS SD-card was announced Gordon wrote this in the comments to the release note:
But the card you’ve both has another mode that we don’t (yet) support for UHS (Ultra High Speed) which allows for higher clock frequencies but also requires a lower voltage to the SD card.

Does the word "(yet)" mean that there will be some hack enabling UHS-I support for the Raspberry Pi SD-card reader?

It would be nice if Gordon would elaborate on his use of the word "yet" in this context.
