PiPresents: Display correctly with screen in a vertical position?

Wed Jan 15, 2020 12:42 pm

Have used PiPresents for several displays very satisfactorily, but due to space constraints need to use a screen in a vertical format. Have been unable to get PP to display correctly. It just displays like the screen is horizontal. I'm using a Pi4, Beep and a single HDMI display on HDMI0. All the screen references in the console @ start up indicate 1920 by 1080. The Pi screen layout editor is configured for vertical and other apps function as expected. Has anyone successfully deployed PP with a vertical screen?

Thanks for any help on this!

why not use the legacy driver instead of FKMS?
Then rotate the screen via config.txt and everything should work as expected

I'm way out of my comfort zone when discussing FKMS, but per a note in the PiPresents docs for Beep(pg78) - when using a Pi other than a Pi4, it reverts to the legacy display system. I tried the same Buster/PP image in a Pi3b rotating the screen via config.txt with the same results!
