Raspberry Pi Zero with 8MP camera

Hi,

I want to know if the Raspberry Pi Zero can handle to simultaneously record 8MP image every 0.2s on the SD card and stream the FullHD image to the hdmi? What kind of latence it would have ? Would it be possible to run other applications simultaneously or would it be saturated?

I am not shure the Pi Zero will handle that.

The reason Is that I am getting the ENOSPC error when grabbing images on the Pi Zero W in highest resolution ( 3280 x 2464 ) and setting the gpu ram size in the /boot/config.txt to 256 instead of 128MB does not make any difference (rebooted after that change).

So I am curious if anyone else is running the Pi Zero with an 8MP camera and if that works without problems.

The sensor delivers one stream of raw images which includes 8mp @ 15fps or 1080p @ 30fps.
Those raw images have to be processed before they are viewable. That processing is done by a hardware block called the isp (image sensor pipeline). It can process around 100Mpix/s, therefore 8Mpix15 exceeds its limits before you even think about your 1080p stream.

You can stream 8Mpix at 10-12fps, but only if you use mjpeg as the codec. The H264 encoder is limited to 1080p.
