UART over BLE with PIN

Fri Jun 28, 2019 7:34 am

Hello,

I'm trying to set up my raspberry pi as a BLE server. The main goal of this is to connect a phone (android or ios) to the Raspberry Pi to turn ON the WiFi hostapd.

There are a lot of tutorials on how to set up a BLE server (for exemple: https://scribles.net/creating-ble-gatt- ... pberry-pi/) but I can't find one with a "secure connection.” What I mean is only people with a predefined password can connect to the Raspberry Pi BLE.

My first question if : is this possible ? I succeed in doing it with Bluetooth 3.0 https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/view ... 5#p1485795 but I'm not sure if it's possible with BLE and advertisements.

If so, how can I do it ?

I'm a little bit lost with BLE so if you have a nice document that explains it, don't hesitate to share it ! :D

Thank you,
Antoine
