Need Help with hc-06 and android

Thu Jan 24, 2019 7:54 am

For a project, i am trying to connect the raspberry pi with an android device so i can lock/unlock a door using a servo. The servo side of thing is what i can do with python but i need to be able to get the on/off signal (maybe a 0 or 1) from the android phone first. So, i got an hc-06 and now need help for the android app. I do not know how to use Android Studio or anything similar and need help.

Which model Pi are you using ? Why not use one with inbuilt BT and Wifi ?

Do you really need an app ?
Why not just make it a web-page: https://projects.raspberrypi.org/en/pro ... with-flask

I'd suggest taking a look at MIT AppInventor (http://ai2.appinventor.mit.edu/) which is a simplified web-based Android App Development environment. If you have some programming experience you should be able to work through the tutorials in a few hours.

There are any number of tutorials on the web for developing the Android side of bluetooth to HC-05/06 devices. e.g. https://roboindia.com/tutorials/sending ... p-inventor
