Bridge to Android Phone's Internet Connection

Hi,

I have an old Fritz Box 3370 that I'd like to use as internet router. It only can connect via DSL or IP, not via Wlan or LTE.

So I'd like to have connection via Raspi and an old Android phone (with broken screen ;-), so I need USB for the mouse, no USB tethering).

Which tutorial would I use for current Raspbian Strech? Setup should be on the console.

As I understand, DHCP serving is done by the phone. So the Raspi would just have to route ip, wouldn't it?

Thanks, Juergen

You do not need the Fritzbox at all, the phone acts as the router as well as the DHCP server.

To connect wired devices to the phone you need to set the Pi up as a WiFi to Ethernet bridge. An example tutorial is https://pimylifeup.com/raspberry-pi-wifi-bridge/

Wow, this is difficult.

Especially, as I tried it out with a Windows laptop, and could create a bridge with some mouse clicks.

If it works as a basic switch then fine, still use it but set the Pi up as the bridge

Just watch your phone bill :D

With that setup you appear to have two devices offering DHCP services. Switch the DHCP server in the router off and rely on the Android phone to do that.
