Volume Control over SPI Bus

Fri Mar 16, 2018 6:50 pm

Hello,

I am looking at designing a HAT for the Raspberry Pi which will provide hardware bit-perfect volume control.

In order to get this to work I somehow need to disable the software volume control in Raspian and send the volume information over the SPI bus instead.

Any articles or resources on how to get this to work?

Thanks;
Leo

I don't understand what you are trying to do. Care to explain what "hardware bit-perfect volume control" means and why doing it in hardware would be better/preferable/advantageous to doing it in software.
