wpa_supplicant.conf [SOLVED]

Tue Feb 13, 2018 2:47 pm

Assuming I have the following kind of setup, does wpa_supplicant support this kind of configuration?

Network Authentication Protected EAP "PEAP" (Secured Password, EAP-MSCHAP v2)
Security Type WPA2 Enterprise
Encryption Type AES
Authentication Key Mgmt 802.1x or CCKM (Cisco Centralized Key Management)

After much reading of various things online about the settings, I got lost (in a maze of twisty passages, all different).
Does anyone know what magic incantations I need?

Obviously, I will need to specify ssid="xxxxx", and scan_ssid=1, since the SSID isn't broadcast, and equally, I know I need to supply credentials, as identity and password.

Thanks in advance,

I have no experience of connecting to that type of wireless network with a pi, but it has been discussed before here may be these threads will help.

Typical. I ask for help from a literally world-wide community, and get help from someone who lives within a 15 mile radius :)
The second thread contains much information that is useful, and when the relevant Pi is in the right place to try, I will certainly be doing this.

Thanks

Resolved. My final result was this, with appropriate redaction:

Code: Select all

network={
        ssid="MY_SSID"
        scan_ssid=1
        proto=RSN
        pairwise=CCMP
        key_mgmt=WPA-EAP
        auth_alg=OPEN
        eap=PEAP
        identity="MY_ID"
        password=hash:MY_HASH
        phase1="peaplabel=0"
        phase2="auth=MSCHAPV2"
}
Hope this helps anyone else with a similar issue.
