Random Networking issues after reboot

We have several RPI3's around here all hardwired to our network via ethernet. Periodically after a reboot they will not get back on the network. After some reboots they will get back on the network, most of the time.

We are using wicd-curses to connect to the network and when they don't get online we login to them with a keyboard locally, access wicd-curses and force them to connect.

Weird thing is according the syslog when they don't connect there is no evidence of an attempt to even connect. When they do connect I can see all the usual dhcp entries.

Our current setup includes a custom image, which is only custom in the respect that we have changed the boot logo, nothing else was changed.

Code: Select all

$uname -a
Linux trusign-b26e 4.4.14-v7+ #2 SMP Fri Jul 8 14:40:31 UTC 2016 armv7l GNU/Linux

$ service dhcpcd status
● dhcpcd.service - dhcpcd on all interfaces
   Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/dhcpcd.service; enabled)
  Drop-In: /etc/systemd/system/dhcpcd.service.d
           └─wait.conf
   Active: inactive (dead)

Have you made any changes to /etc/network/interfaces or /etc/dhcpcd.conf?
