Real-Time Data Monitoring

Sat Jan 20, 2018 5:19 am

Hey There! :) I am going to create a project in which I'm doing monitoring of some factors like (temperature, humidity, and dust). And I want to create a database on which the data of the sensors will save automatically, can anyone help me with that? Tell me how can I do that? Any tutorial or relative things could be suggested?
Please help me I search a lot on the internet but find nothing about that. The most important thing is uploading the data continuously on the database.
I shall be very thankful to you.

I gather similar sensor data to you using a python application I've written.
I store all my samples (some at 0.5Hz others at 15 minute intervals) in a system RAM array over a 24 hour period.
At midnight, I store the contents of the array in a simple CSV file with a name containing the date and time and then email graphs of the data to myself.
I also have a graphical screen showing all the data "live". I VNC into my Pi at any time to see live data.

The one big problem of storing data continuously in a database file is that the SD card will wear out quite quickly which is why I commit data once every 24 hours. Or you could attach a standard USB HDD and write to that as normal I guess.
