Raspberry Pi Remote access, with no internet.

Wed Nov 08, 2017 10:41 pm

Hey, all.

I am here wondering if anybody can help me out with a solution for a project I am working on. What I want to do is Use my Nexus 7 tablet to control my Raspberry Pi over remotely and wirelessly, or using (USB only at the last resort). Now the program I Need to use is VNC, this is because the software that I will be using requires a GUI, also I will not have access to the WWW or even 3G network. With this said I need to be able to use VNC on my tablet to remotely control my raspberry pi in the woods, Literally. That said can anybody help me please??

Welcome to the Raspberry Pi forums.

Over what distance do you need to operate in the woods? Is WiFi an option?

[Hint: WiFi does not have to be used to connect to a hotspot or Access Point providing Internet access.]

Thank you for responding, I will literally be only about 1 to 3 feet away. I have also thought about wifi, such as an AD-HOC Wifi Network. if I can do this is the any sort of directions or instructions that you could give me?

Set up one RPi as an Access Point:

Rather than negativity think outside the box !
RPi 4B 4GB (SSD Boot) RaspiOS64 ARM64
Asus ChromeBox 3 Celeron is my other computer...
