Take image from 16GB to 8GB sd card

Mon Nov 07, 2016 10:47 am

Hello,
I have 16 GB sd card with Raspbian installed on it.
At the 16GB sd, much less than 8 GB is in used and I would like to take an image of that sd card to another 8 GB sd card.

What is the simple way to do this?

I know about 'Win32DiskImager' but if I reading the 16GB card using that the img file is larger then 8GB.

Thanks!

Using a linux based computer... you can compress your 16Gb img to a 6Gb (or less) img using this tool: https://github.com/aikoncwd/PiShrink
