USB pi to mac/windows sharing

Thu Nov 03, 2016 6:55 pm

I have accomplished this in the past but cannot find the exact method i used. I was trying to control a usb robotic arm but their was no linux software for the arm so i used the raspberry pi as a wireless usb hub. I am attempting to do the same thing with a usb powered monitor(which may be the problem) so i can create a wireless display on my wall with a calendar editable from either my mac or windows computer. I have tried a few of the free/limit use software out there but i was wondering if there is any raspberry pi supported software that you know of.

Any thoughts of how to do this or if its because of the usb display let me know.

On a slightly seperate note. The display has 2 usb ports, im assuming for power, can i connect one of them to a usb battery to give the additional power that might not be available from the raspberry pi.

this is the display, it has linux drivers but not raspbian drivers. I do not think it needs them if its only acting as a usb hub.

Again any thought would be appreciated

Thanks
