Auto Gate Open Pi

Hi all,
I have an Project for House automation, and i am going to start with the gate, the goal, is to open the gate via bluetooth or wifi or both, i use a xiaomi mi band, and i could use it to open my gate, or remotly via VPN and an App, i have a Server at home with firewall etc... i new to robotics, i have just made my first quadcopter which its nice, and now i want to start with something more advanced, i dont understand much of House Electric, so i am asking here for help!

The P2 its the switch button, if i press it opens the gate
What kind of hardware am i going to need, and which version of PI is appropriated? the smaller the better i want to place everything inside that box aswell, if i cant isnt a problem.

Probably all you need to do is to replace that switch with a relay. The switch looks like its double pole double throw... verify... then replace it with a similar relay.

The PI via relay driver throws the relay rather than you throwing the switch.

You could then control the PI any number of ways... pushbotton, ssh, signal handler, &. I think I would want a manual pushbutton input to the PI as well as whatever automation.

Any model PI would work well, as well any model Arduino or other micro-controller.
