hostapd - list of associated clients

Fri May 01, 2015 9:50 am

Hi,

I am trying to find way, howto list associated clients on my RPI AP.
I found this :

Code: Select all

iw dev wlan0 station dump
the output looks like this:

Code: Select all

Station e8:de:27:19:6e:a8 (on wlan0)
        inactive time:  2300 ms
        rx bytes:       68740241
        rx packets:     693989
        tx bytes:       1997354783
        tx packets:     1323804
        tx retries:     0
        tx failed:      0
        signal:         -71 dBm
        signal avg:     -70 dBm
        tx bitrate:     26.0 MBit/s MCS 3
        authorized:     yes
        authenticated:  yes
        preamble:       long
        WMM/WME:        yes
        MFP:            no
        TDLS peer:              no
This is nice, but how can I find real name of station e8:de:27:19:6e:a8 ?? (for example PC name, phone name etc.)
I am trying to google it, but no results.
Can somebody help?

Thanx!

The result is nearly the same:

Code: Select all

pi@raspberrypi ~ $ sudo hostapd_cli all_sta
Selected interface 'wlan0'
14:a3:64:dc:36:96
dot11RSNAStatsSTAAddress=14:a3:64:dc:36:96
dot11RSNAStatsVersion=1
dot11RSNAStatsSelectedPairwiseCipher=00-0f-ac-4
dot11RSNAStatsTKIPLocalMICFailures=0
dot11RSNAStatsTKIPRemoteMICFailures=0
hostapdWPAPTKState=11
hostapdWPAPTKGroupState=0
00:15:99:ca:e4:c8
dot11RSNAStatsSTAAddress=00:15:99:ca:e4:c8
dot11RSNAStatsVersion=1
dot11RSNAStatsSelectedPairwiseCipher=00-0f-ac-4
dot11RSNAStatsTKIPLocalMICFailures=0
dot11RSNAStatsTKIPRemoteMICFailures=0
hostapdWPAPTKState=11
hostapdWPAPTKGroupState=0
Lot of information, but I still don´t know, who is it :(
Another idea?

Once you have the MAC addresses you can look those up against their IPv4 addresses with
arp -a -n

Yes, it works partially. I have bridged interface wlan0 and eth0, when I use arp -a, I can see only machines connected through wired connection, but no wireless devices. My network configuration should be ok, It works long time already, I have connected printer, phone, etc.

What can be wrong? Bridge? I´m using same configuration as in OpenWrt before. eth0 and wlan0 have no IP and br0 with IP 10.0.0.220.
