Raspberry Pi Zero W - No wireless interface found

Thu Jan 09, 2020 10:04 am

Good morning,
I started using my raspberry pi zero w again, but I noticed that the wifi interface is not working, it is not recognized. The strange fact is that until a few versions ago everything was normal ... I tried to change SD card to change the operating system to check the forum, etc. but I was unable to solve the problem. Can you explain the reason or offer me a solution to take advantage of the integrated peripherals? I bought this device because of its technical characteristics and these shortcomings create a bit of problems for me.
Thanks in advance.

I had a similar experience recently.

I had edited my /boot/config.txt file to overclock the sdcard.

An unexpected side effect was that the wlan0 device was no longer available

The command:

Code: Select all

ifconfig -a
confirmed it was missing.

When I removed the overclocking line from config.txt and rebooted, all was fixed.

So my question is whether you have edited a boot setting recently, and this is causing your wlan0 to disappear? Just a thought.

Need more details to help you. I'm going out on a limb and assuming you've straight up went back to a fresh install, based off of what you mentioned (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Can you provide output from this command?

Code: Select all

# dmesg | grep -i net

Return to “Advanced users”
